Structural Classification

The 6 Patterns

Your body organizes under gravity following one of six predictable patterns. Each determines your intervention strategy.

Pattern 1

Functional Occupancy

Most balanced. Minimal restrictions. Standard programming works. Rare in trained lifters with 3+ years.

Pattern 2

Intact Lateralization [L]

Most common. Right-side dominance, left rotation preference. Hip abduction R limited. Glute med R recessive.

Pattern 3

Mixed Lateralization [L]

Pattern 2 with additional compensations. More restrictions. Interventions need higher specificity.

Pattern 4

Intact Lateralization [R]

Mirror of Pattern 2. Left-side dominance. Less common but significant.

Pattern 5

Mixed Lateralization [R]

Mirror of Pattern 3. Right lateralization with compensations. Most specific intervention needed.

Pattern 6

Extended Bilateral

Bilateral extension. Hyperlordosis, bilateral rib flare, ZOA difficulty. Most conservative initial progression.
